The Carter Plantation Community Development District owns the historic Carter Plantation home and the land on which it sits. Built in 1856, the property is a proud reminder of the history of the community and a beautiful example of ante bellum architecture. The house is operated and managed by the Historic Carter House Society, and group of resident volunteers who give their time and energy to raise funds and make repairs to keep the house and grounds in excellent condition to be used for weddings, meetings and other events.
