Funds to operate the CDD are provided by a tax assessment to each property owner’s annual Livingston Parish property tax. Revenue is also generated monthly through the collection of fees for water and sewer usage. A budget is created annually to determine how funds will be spent to operate and maintain the sewer treatment plant that processes sewerage per state and federal standards, and the well that provides fresh water to the community. Funds are also used to make repairs to the streets owned by the CDD, and the underground storm drainage system. Other expenses for insurance, legal and accounting services are also included.
